Lunch Time Clubs:

Thursday                  12.30-1.15pm            Knitting Club

We are very fortunate to have a committed community volunteer, Mrs Palmer, who visits school most Thursdays to run the popular Knitting Club.  Children learn a range of basic stitches and take great delight in producing lots of items including stuffed toys, finger puppets and scarves.  Boys and girls enjoy this activity.  We are always grateful for donations of wool or knitting needles for use at this club.

We also run a range of lunchtime clubs in the playground throughout the year.  Our older children act as Sports Leaders who organise competitions and activities.  We also run Change4Life clubs with a range of fun activities to encourage our children to enjoy an active lifestyle.  we also run Cheer Leading and Green Fingers Clubs at various times during the year.

Music Tuition

North Yorkshire Peripatetic Music Tuition- Guitar and other instruments upon demand

Music is part of the National Curriculum and as such is available to all children in the school. NYCC offer music tuition via peripatetic music teachers who visit primary schools to teach various instruments. Please see the NYCC website for further details and to register for this service.  Please note that there is a charge for this service.  Charges may be reduced or waived if you fulfil certain criteria.  Any instruments borrowed from school or NYCC are subject to  parental acceptance of responsibility of the safe keeping and upkeep of the instrument.

Glasshouses School Clarinet Tuition

We are fortunate to have the services of a clarinet teacher, Mrs Appleton, a former teacher at Glasshouses School.  Mrs Appleton kindly volunteers at our school and teaches clarinet to our children.  The tuition is of an excellent standard with pupils achieving excellent results in their exams.  We have a range of school instruments which our children may borrow and all we ask is for parents to contribute £10 termly towards the upkeep of the instruments and the purchase of music books.  Please contact the school office for further details.
