Parent View - Give Ofsted your view on your child's school

Each year we raise hundreds of pounds for a range of charities, some International, many National, some are more local. Often the children come to us with their own ideas and we will always try to support them in their endeavours.

We hold many fundraising events in school. These have included 'Children in Need', 'Sports Relief', Macmillan Coffee Mornings, knitting yellow jumpers for the 'Tour de France' and many others.

Keep an eye out for our next fundraising event!

Spring and Summer Terms 2017

We had successful coffee mornings raising funds for the British Heart Foundation and also for the defibrillator which we now have outside school.  We are very proud to have this located on the school premises and have undertaken to help with the ongoing costs.  We made a donation to the Village Association who are managing the upkeep of the defibrillators.  In May we hosted the walkers undertaking the 20 mile route as part of the annual Rotary Club Nidderdale walk.  We raised almost £200 which has funded an amazing end of Sats treat for our Year 6 pupils, a further donation to the Village Association for the upkeep of the defibrillator plus we will be funding some end of term treats for our younger children.  Red Nose day was another successful fundraiser, one we look forward to each year.  The children enjoyed coming to school in non uniform with a red twist raising £70 in the process.

Autumn 2016

We have started the year with some great events and efforts, see our newsletters for details (on the News Page)and photos of these events. So far.....................

  •   Roald Dahl Charity Fundraiser   -£31 raised.  Children enjoyed coming to school dressed as their favourite characters. We undertook Roald Dahl themed activities and had lots of fun. Class 3 even have a Dahl themed classroom with chair tidies carrying on the theme of the children's  favourite literary characters.
  •   Macmillan Coffee Morning     - £205  raised.  We support this every year and always have excellent support from families and pupils as well as from our local community. The children entertained visitors with some specially learned songs and the School Council enjoyed selling the cakes and running the raffle. As a school and village community we have experienced the devastating impact on a family caused by cancer and each year we do our little bit to support the efforts  of the Macmillan nurses and Cancer Research UK.
  •   School Council Social Evening Fundraiser for Our Sponsor child raised £250 to cover the cost of our      sponsorship for the year.  Well Done School Council.   Onc again we had a pie and pea supper with great entertainment courtesy of Mrs Snape and Miss Reinsch who were our bingo callers for the evening. The PTFA kindly undertook the catering and served food to our guests. 5Thankyou PTFA.  We sponsor a child, Fatumata, and have undertaken to do this until she reaches 18. As a result of our sponsorship she receives health care and attends school. Fatumata is our second sponsor child, having sponsored a girl called Nomsa for several years. For Nomsa and her family our sponsorship made the difference after the death of her father, enabling Nomsa to stay in education until the age of 18. We do this sponsorship through the charity Plan - if you would like to find out more have a look at our display in the school hall or look on the Plan website .
  •    Little Princess Wigs- Connie is having her long hair cut off in aid of a charity which makes wigs for children    suffering cancer related hair loss. Look in newsletter to see how much she raises and for some photos.
  •     Poppy Appeal. See the Newsletter 11/11/16 for photos and details of our Remembrance Service with collection for the Poppy Appeal.  We were delighted to be informed that we had raised £68 for this worthy cause.
